Josh Paul is a leading human rights campaigner and the former Director of the U.S. Congressional and Public Affairs for the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs. He was responsible for overseeing U.S. defence diplomacy and global arms transfers.
In October 2023, Josh made headlines around the world when he became the first Biden administration official to publicly resign in protest over U.S. military assistance to Israel during the Gaza conflict, citing a breakdown in human rights oversight.
He cofounded A New Policy, a political action committee and lobbying group dedicated to supporting a U.S. Middle East policy centred around human rights and compliance with U.S. and international law.
