Nick is the director and co-founder of FairSquare, a non-profit organisation that combines thorough, hard-hitting research with impactful advocacy to promote systemic change and stop human rights abuses.
With over two decades of experience in human rights research and advocacy, Nick increasingly works at the intersection of sport and human rights.
He has conducted research and advocacy on a wide range of rights issues, including torture and enforced disappearances, abuses in agricultural supply chains, heat-related deaths in the construction sector, and the human rights impacts of misgovernance in sport.
His body of research includes multiple reports and peer-reviewed academic articles, and he has written opinion pieces for publications including The Guardian and the New York Times.
He has a PhD in international law on slavery from the European University Institute in Florence, an LLM in international human rights law from the Irish Centre for Human Rights in Galway, and an MEng in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
